Taunton MA: EDI has signed an OEM distributor agreement with InfiMed of Liverpool NY for the sole distribution in the domestic USA for the new Mobile DR upgrade. The uniqueness of the Mobile DR is the wireless DR flat panel detector being used with the AMX-4 and AMX-4+ portables.

InfiMed has been the leader in image processing software for many years. The strong Dealer relationships of EDI and the technology development of Infimed made this a winning combination for both companies.

The new upgrade kits and systems include a wireless DR flat panel detector, wireless tablet PC, and connecting components. Hospitals and imaging centers can upgrade their AMX-4 or AMX-4+ to DR capability right in their facility. Also, when the portable is not being used, the wireless detector and the tablet PC can be utilized to transform an analog rad room into a DR rad room. The EDI Mobile DR provides two solutions for the price of one.

EDI expects to begin shipping these systems by the end of the first quarter of 2010.
